What a set !
« on: November 30, 2004, 03:56:09 AM »
My 13 year old has a dirt hole set in the field behind our house. So far it has caught a  2 possums,  and 2 red foxes. All but the first were re-makes with the original trap. He sets bare handed and is careful to keep any lure off of the trap. Both foxes were adult males. His last catch was the day after a heavy rain. I wonder how many this set will take. Shotgunner

Good deal. Keep up the good work. Don't know how many that set will take but you could be hitting the bottom of the catch. He did quite well with one set.

That 13 year old is turning out to be a good trapper and a good kid. He started to follow me around hunting and trapping as soon as he was big enough to walk. I remember him having to run every few steps to keep up. He was always better at spotting mink and muskrat sets because he was low to the waterline and could see them better than me. He is a good shot and has taken deer and ducks and pheasants. He drives and old Bronco around my 100 acres and the farm next to us and checks traps by himself. He is more responsible that any kid his age I know. I thank God every day that he is my son. Trapping is very good for kids. Shotgunner
