Looking For......

I was told about an electric powered ATUV and was wondering if anyone here could supply a web site address for such a critter?  Got no make or name so any information would be helpful.  Lawdog

I believe what you are referring to would be a converted golf cart type vehicle.  E-Z-Go makes several different versions, some in gas, some in electric.  See if this is what you are looking for.

I have also seen several people that have purchased old golf carts and put a lift kit on them and bigger tires.  Matter of fact, if you do some web searches there are several after market products for them.  From what I understand, as long as you don't expect too much out of the vehicle as far as deep mud etc., you should be fine.

A couple of times on the Outdoor Channel I've heard the tail end of a commercial about some kinda 4x4 ATV with two electric motors. I'm pretty sure that's what you're thinking about but I've not heard enough of the commercial either time to be sure what name of it was. That gorilla thing doesn't look like what the commercials conjured up in my mind but I dunno.

Now that one, the Bad Boy, sounds more like the one I heard advertised on the Outdoor Channel. It's 4x4 and has two electric motors just like the one they spoke of. Suspect that's it.

Now that thing is neat.  Still looks like a golf cart to me but the video is pretty impressive.

I would certainly like to give one a good testing at the lease.  My standard question re: electric vehicles like that one is how far, or how many hours will they run before needing to be re-charged?   I think the need to plug in and recharge is what keeps electric vehicles from becoming more popular.  It would be hard to go on an overnight camping trip with one if there wasn't a place to recharge.  For that reason if for no other reason, an electric offroad vehicle isn't for me.  You gotta love the advertised torque though huh?  Wow.

Simple solution to that.

Just pull a trailer with a generator and battery charger along.

LOL....

Check out ricksesv.com.  I had a chance to ride around on one of these that the owner brought to Kansas where we do a celebrity turkey hunt with Jim Kelley (Buffalo Bills QB) to raise money for his charity, Hunters Hope.  The 4x4 machines are pretty impressive.
