Went to a local gun shop
« on: December 02, 2004, 07:18:27 AM »
Went to one of my favorite gun shops last nignt. They had several handi rifles. They had a target model 38-55 and a stainless .357 with survivor stock set on it.They also had a survivor in .308.The target model was very nice, I really like the case coloring on it,wish i could afford it.How bad does a survivor in .308 beat you when you shoot it? How bad is the muzzle blast, because it looked like the barrell was a little on the short side.

I had the Survivor 308...and it wasn't  bad on the recoil...but I restocked it to the factory Cinnamon laminated stock...and it was much better...the barrel is a 22"bull barrel...and there is the standard amount of muzzle blast associated with the 308's..and in reality...that really isn't as bad as some of the other ones...I went this route because I couldn't order the 308 bull barrel thru the accessory program...when I got mine. They are great little rifles..and you can always pick up or trade someone for different stocks for it,if you don't like them......and they are good shooters...1/2" groups with Federal factory match ammo is what mine averaged...
