strip Norinco 1897 shotgun?
« on: December 02, 2004, 07:37:41 AM »
Need help with diassembling Norinco M1897 12 Ga.shotgun.  I followed instructions for a Winchester to no avail.   Removed two screws and a pin. Carrier is supposed drop out ,Then bolt is removed to rear. Tried this and nothing moves.  My bolt binds in frame midway to rear and takes a good pull to work the action. Iwould like to slick it up a bit.  Horsefeathers.

I have not taken down the '97 copy produced by Norinco.  They are supposedly direct copies of the Winchester produced 97 but we all know how that goes.  I attached below a link to a parts blowup of the M97, what pin and screws have you removed?  Somewhere I've a takedown instruction sheet for the '97 but will have to look for it..  I will say that these are complex weapons and takedown is a chore...  There are a myriad of small parts and screws and many are unique..  never tear one down without a ral need...
