info on EAA Bakail single shot rifle, any users?
« on: December 02, 2004, 01:03:51 PM »
I was told by Remington that the new line of guns imported from EAA/Bakail called Spartan would be available this spring. The new models have spiral fluteed barrel.Very unusual I would think.
I  have sxs 12ga. double that's really nice gun for the money,no problems with it at all. I am very interested in their single shot rifle in 7.62x39.
Anyone had experience with these rifles?

                         Thanks, HARRYGOAT

I've seen the Remington Spartan single shots in stores here, look and feel  pretty cheap compared to an H&R, hopefully the rifles will be better since they their MSRP is about double the shotgun prices. The double barrel Spartans are pretty nice, but definetly not cheap at over $430.

I have the IZH 94  combo 12 ga / 30-06.   I love it.  The 12 ga shots about 2 inch groups at 50 yrds and the first shot out of the 30-06 is within 2 inches at 100 yrds.  The combo designed as a field gun, as the barrel heats up on the range the 30-06 accuracy diminishes.

The Baikal is not beautiful but it has never let me down in the field.

I don't know if they are still imported, but a couple years ago I saw a single shot rifle by CZ that was BEAUTIFUL!!!  Puts EAA/Remington to shame.  And for $250 NIB, I should have bought it.  It was in .222 Rem.  Not sure how many other calibers it came in.

Hi,
Picked up my Baikal 308 today.  Here in Oz,  a Handi rifle is about $525. The baikal was $400. (Our dollar buy's 75 US  cents at the moment.)
Its lighter than the H&R 308 Handi rifle I checked out, and I like the fact you can carry it un cocked. Pretty cool for a hammerless.
Anyhow, I've loaded some 165gn cast projectiles  and I'll see what it shoots like tomorrow.
Happy hunting.......
