Ranges for notches in the adj. rear sight in m94 .30-30?
« on: January 28, 2003, 10:25:39 PM »
What ranges do the notches in the adjustable rear sight correspond to on my 1952 m94 .30-30, 20" barrel? Haven't sighted it in yet, so notches don't mean much yet, but just wondering what the original intentions were.

STW,

Assuming that the differences in the height of the notches is .015 and the sight radius is about 17", each notch would give a 3 1/8" shift in bullet impact @ 100 yards.  Therefore, if your gun is sighted in for 100 yards, moving the sight up one notch would change the zero to about 180 yards.
