Author Topic: remington chambering .270 & .300 WSMs???? (Read 864 times)

i was told yesterday that in 2005 remington will begin chambering some 700s in not only the .270 WSM, but the .300 WSM as well. anyone else heard this?

I haven't heard that. I wouldn't mind a model 700 of some sort in 300 WSM. My friend has a Winchester model 70 in 300 WSM. Last year he shot a moose with it. It was a 280 yard shot. One shot one moose, it worked great!

I would sort of think they will have to since their short mags are such a flop and some companies are dropping the Rem short mags.

I don't know whats coming in 2005, but I do know that they made a short run of 270 WSM's early on. I saw a couple at a gun show this weekend, and I have seen them on on of the auction sites.

What is the rem. short mag? Haven't seen one of them yet. Is it the same a the WSM?

The Rem short mag is just alittle smaller than the wsm. From the new Rem line up may never see the rem short mag again just going to be made in the Model 7 and Titanium plus out of the custom shop. I think it's the kiss of death.

I was thinkin of gettin a mod. 700 in 300 rem short mag. Do they make the 700 in this?

If you can find one in stock may want to buy it they don't show it in the 2005 catalog. That was the problem with the rem short mag to start with only offered it in the model 7 then later came out with the Sendro(dropped for 2005) and the 700bdl. The 300wsm and 270
wsm replaced the rem short mag in the regular line up for 2005(I think it's the kiss of death for the rem short mag). I think they lost too many sales to the wsm. Rem has done pretty good with the RUM and winchester and sako chamber that round.
