I put the H&R Hunstman scope mount base on last year, but haven't mounted rings & a scope.  Do I need Weaver mount rings?

I have gone to Millit Rings on all my shooters. The thing I like about the Millits is you can loosen one side and snug the other to adjust horizontal and then fine tune with the scope knobs. They are only about $20 a set .

You might want to read the posts in optic discussions forum about Millet rings before you buy them

Millett has been my most common choice in scope rings.  I have mounted at least 30 scopes with their Angle-Loc rings, (for Weaver style bases).   Not one problem with the rings or the scopes.  Not one. I have called their customer service dept to get some extra screws once, as I lost some, and they were very friendly and helpful.  I take care to center the rings laterally on the mount and check their alignment with each other.  After that, it is useful to utilize their adjustability for windage so that you can keep from over-adjusting with the scope's internal adjustments. I generally use the ring adjustment for (windage) boresighting and fine tune with internal adjustments at the range. I have not encountered any situation where I felt I risked bending a scope tube.  I have used Burris,Weaver, Redfield. Leupold,Warne, and other rings as well.  There are a lot of good rings out there, but I use Milletts most often and I have never regretted those choices.  I like 'em!

Wild willy - I gave up trying to find the post in optics about the Millits. I have them on 3 rifles and they work great for me.
