Diana 34 trading for a Rem 597
« on: December 03, 2004, 01:45:01 PM »
I have a friend that has a Diana 34 .177 airgun that is looking to upgrade to a .22.   I am in the market of finding an airgun that will help me practice indoors for silhouette shooting.

I have a Remington 597 LSS that I have put a Volquartsen hammer in and free floated.  It also has three clips, and rings for a scope.

He mentioned that we could possibly trade straight across.  I don't know much about the Diana 34, or even if it is that great of a gun, or accurate enough to help me with my silhouette shooting. What do you think?

I was also thinking of throwing in a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14 silver scope that I had mounted on the 597 previously, due to the 597 lacking a rear site.  Is this way overkill, the scope does have some mounting marks?

Thanks

Don't know how much you have in your 597 , Nikon scope and extra clips but you should be able to pick up the RWS Diana 34 for about $200. Seems like your items would be worth more?

chunter,

Your friend is no friend if he made the suggestion of trading.  Sell your .22 and you should be able to purchase a much better air rifle with the money than the RWS M34.  Bad deal.  Lawdog

I'm not going to pan the 34, as I hope to get one in Carbine form, eventually. I have the little bro 24 right now, and it's my current favorite. However, you can currently get a clean, demo model with warranty from

for under $150!

Now, I know darn well you have far more into your 597 than that, and that's without optics. RUN away from that one, LOL.
Rest in Peace, Mr. President.
