ive found this trick by another guy on this forum and i loved it and recomended it to several guys on here. on the marlin bolt actions without the new t900 trigger. by taking out the original spring on trigger and replacing it with an ink pen spring cut to the same link and replaced. any one else tried it? and tell me how u guys liked it and the diffference it made in your accuracy :P

I used it on my 917V and 917VS, made for a lighter trigger but it did nothing for the sloppy feel and the creep. I bought Rifle Basix triggers for both of em and never looked back.

I haven't tried it yet but I plan to.  While the trigger on my 981T has got to be the worst trigger "feel" I've ever expeienced, I've gotten very good groups with the rifle as is.  Thus I don't have a sense of urgency to make changes at this point in time.  I will eventually ( after the first of the year) get to it.  Thanks for the tip.  It is much appreciated.

I tried changing springs on my old style and wasn't impressed with the results - I went with the Rifle Basix trigger.

I've done the pen spring trick on my 25MN and 17V, and it helped.  That being said, a good polishing of the contact surfaces was even more helpful.  I don't mind a bit of pull weight, if the trigger is smooth and crisp.
