Alaska Hunt Canx...let's talk hogs

:D Howdy hog hunters.

I had a great invite to bear hunting in Alaska with a friend who lives there, but....I'm married.  As the missus (aka -- Hope Killer, Dream Smasher, etc... ) and I were talking calendars she informed that my Spring bear hunt conflicted with a family reunion.  Says she "Oh, I'm so sorry you can go to Alaska.  Don't you already have a bear?"  One bear.  They're like 'tater chips -- can't have just one.

Well, I ain't just gonna sit here and pout :( .  There's a hog in North Carolina or Tennessee that needs killin' and I'm the guy to do it.  I've got a brochure from an outfit in North Carolina and several from outfits in Tennessee.  I'm considering Wilderness Hunting Lodge in Tennessee since I might be able to let my boy shoot a fallow doe there.

Where've you fellas been?  Who'd you recommend I go with or stay away from and why?  I'd like to take a nice hog myself and perhaps let the boy shoot somethin' that's a little easier on the wallet.

I've hunted with Tellico Junction in TN and can recommend them as a good place to go. Joe and Mazie Meeks ran it back then. I think it changed hands for awhile but I think they are back involved again to some extent. Good folks a a good hunt.

I've talked to Ken Moody and was in the process of scheduling a hunt there but Dave Quick aka Iron Knees had to back out due to medical probelms and we just never got it rescheduled. Sounded like it was gonna be a good hunt too.

I've hunted in Tenn. at both Clarkrange hunting lodge, and Caryonah hunting lodge, and both were good hunts[this was years ago].  When I hunted at Clarkrange, it was with the previous owner[John Gilbert, who is now Ken Moody's taxidermist, I think].  The terrain is AWESOME!!, but be in shape.  If you are gonna hunt at Clarkrange, get your reservations in, it is a very popular hunt!  Also, Moody has out a couple of videos, that would give you a good idea about the hunt.  Good luck!
