Graybeard,
I guess I basically agree with you on this issue, but I'm not so sure I would throw the "baby out with the wash water" as the old saying goes.
Yep, there are warranties galore out there on everything today. I have had problems with a new vehicle. Sure, they will repair it, but they don't really care about how one gets the vehicle there to be repaired...The inconveniece of missing work or taking the vehicle to the garage and getting a ride home and then back again the next day. The same is true with your T/C's. By the time one returns a handgun or whatever and pays shipping, the dang thing becomes the most expensive piece ever purchased. I also have just purchased another used older Contender as I really am scared to purchase the newer G2 and Encore models. I think some quality did go into the older stuff...
Companies should have to stand behind their warranties 100%, and that includes the inconvenience the defect has caused. Until this happens, the big businesses will always be able to put compromised materials on the market at the poor consumers expense. The big leaders, or "Bow Tie Men" as I call them, of these companies have ruined the credibility of most businesses in this country...Period. Good-luck with your decision...BCB
