Plug screw question

I have a Remington M700BDL.  I mounted a scope and I want to remove the sights and put in plug screws.  Is there a specific type screw I should look for?

There were plug screws in the receiver scope mounting holes.  I suually use them, although Brownells sells a plug screw that I believe looks a bit better. They have a thinner head and a shorter threaded section to seal the hole a bit better. Plug screws are available from Brownells but you should be able to get them from your local gunshop or gunsmith. They mount scopes regularly and these plugs come out of the receiver holes.

Sergeantlbt, I removed the sights from my 7600 and the receiver plug screws didn't fit. I went to my local gunsmith to have the rear sling swivel stud installed and I got the plug screws from him. He didn't use the positive stop type screw so they didn't protrude. The plug screws without the positive stop allow you to wipe your rifle off with a rag and not snag too much.
