Anyone have zeroing problems when changing barrels?
« on: December 08, 2004, 05:29:41 AM »
Just wondering if this is a problem with anyone here at this forum when changing barrels? All my handi barrels except the smoothbore fineshot barrels wear scopes and so far I have had only one minor problem when switching from my centerfire barrels to the rifled slug barrels. Your experiences would be appreciated.........Chainsaw

Welcome aboard, Chainsaw! :D I 've switched back and forth between several barrels at the range waiting for em to cool and never saw any change in POI. I think there shouldn't be any difference as long as the forend screw gets tightened the same every time. I use a Utica torque screwdriver for that task, set at 24 in/lbs.

quickdtoo, That is a mighty fine idea with the screwdriver set to torque the forend screw. Thanks for the welcome as well..........Chainsaw

Nope.  i've often wondered about that too.  i tried shooting my .270 barrel and then switched it off and put the .223 barrel on it.  no problems!

Some problems might arise if scopes were jarred or loose (including bases).
