223 WSSM Loads
« on: December 08, 2004, 06:05:39 PM »
Can anyone present me or direct me to a site with some info for the 223 WSSM using Barnes TSX?  I can't find any load data on it anywhere in spite of my searches on the web.  Or if there are any other accurate loads out there, they are welcome just the same.  The rifle I'm looking to purchase pretty soon is the Winchester Mod. 70 Coyote.  I'm expecting it to be a fine addition to my rifle battery.    Thanks in advance.  Patriot

P.S.  Anyone have experience with this specific rifle and chambering?  Is the 24" bbl. plenty accurate and offer excellent velocity, or would a 26" bbl be the better choice?  On the 24" bbl, what is the barrel's muzzle dia.?  That also is something I'm curious to know.  Thanks again.

Thanks ricciardelli,

Those were helpful.  A small, question or two.

1.  Are the 52-53gr. bullet loads also compatible for use with a 53gr. Barnes TSX?

2.  Do the highlighted powders signify best performace, or best accuracy?

Thanks again for the help.  Patriot

If you start with the lighter loads and work-up, they apply to all 52 and 53 grain bullets.

The highlighted powder is the one I found to be best both in velocity and accuracy.
