Guess what I just got for Christmas!!
« on: December 13, 2004, 05:53:24 AM »
My girlfriend gave me a Christmas present yesterday.  She will be flying home to visit her mother for Christmas, so we had our Christmas yesterday.  Anyway she gave me a NIB Buffalo Classic.  I am one happy puppy (as someone says on this forum).

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy Mike, you deserve it and she does sound like a keeper. Now to get her something nice, either a 38-55 Target Model, or maybe a ring would be nice too ( :-D ).

Thanks for everything and Merry CHRISTmas to both you and your girlfriend....<><....

Thanks guys...  Yes she is great...  She is a shooter too (BP Traditional and rimfires).

Are there any good replacement sights for the Williams rear.  It just does not look right.  The eye-cup opening seems too big to get a good sight picture.  Is there any such vernier sights that mount on the barrel where the Williams sight is now?  No metal in the tang area.  I think the front globe style sight is a Lyman 17A (read that somewhere on this forum but am not positive).

Thanks, Mike.

Are you going to shoot that in SASS or CAS?  I can direct you to what sights you will need then for Period Correctness

I have never seen a SASS or CAS event, so I will not shoot in one in the near future.  Would like to see one though.  I usually shoot by myself or with my girlfriend.  It would be nice if the rear sight had an eye-cup and was windage adjustable and fit into the existing holes in barrel.  But that would be probably be asking to much.  Would be great if it also was period correct and/or match the rifle more.

Thanks alot Montanan

Montanan, Could you describe the events the SASS groups use the NEF's in? BPCR will not allow them, but there is a groups of SASS shooters that get together each month about 40 miles from me. I've been to a match, but just can't quite get into the "how fast can your SAA (or likeness) go pop. Perhaps I am coming at it from the wrong angle.
