Trigger job on a Raging Bull
« on: December 13, 2004, 11:02:34 AM »
Can this be done?

Gunsmith in my area told me they won't do trigger jobs on Taurus's anymore, because the job never holds, and they can't get parts.  They have to send the gun back to Taurus, and it comes back with new parts, then the whole circus starts over again.

My 454 8.5" barrel has a pull of about 6 1/2 pounds.

Pat, that sounds unusual to me, every RB i've ever shot had a very nice crisp trigger. Both of the ones I have now are around 3 1/2 pound pull. You may want to post this question in the Gunsmithing forum, I am sure Gunnut69 will be able to answer this for you..... :D

The trigger on my stainless 6 1/2" .454 Taurus sucks. I need mine adjusted. :(

The trigger on my .454 Raging Bull was over the 6# mark. I had a smith that has done work for me over the years bring it to 3# in single action mode.  He did comment that the internal metal parts were considerably softer than he usually worked with.  The trigger job is about 500 rounds old now with no problems.  The gun was made in 1999.

My 45 Colt Raging Bull has a decent trigger pull weight but it does not break cleanly.  It could use a little work.
