General Input on BSA

What is the general concensus on BSA? I have a chance to buy a 3x9x40 illuminated reticle Deerhunter from a guy for 70.0.  He got it as a gift and does not need it.  It is new.  I had a BSA catseye and it was a great scope!!
Just wondered what yalls thought are!!

Well I have owned three, one a shotgun scope bit the dust due to recoil. The 3x12 contender scope has a great deal of distortion around the edges of field of view. The last also a 2.5 shotgun scope works fine on my 22 rimfire.

Worst scope I have ever had on a rifle, bar none. 3x9x40 AO catseye lost sight picture and reticle one month after purchase shooting reduced loads in 6.5x55. Parts moved that shouldn't. Company would not substitute lesser scope for this scope upon request, sent me another same model. Sold it on gunbroker as soon as it arrived. I'd rather have open sights.

Buy Leupold and you won't have to buy again.

I have a BSA reddot on my .22 contender.  I think it is a fine sight.  I don't use it all that much but it gets the job done.

My BSA red dot fogged up internally the first time I used it in the rain.
