I hope this is a good place for this: who invented th .410 shotgun and when and why. any info would be great. :grin:

I have no idea but have seen early rimfire shot cartridges that were listed as garden guns.  Small shotguns used to defend the family garden plot from pests..  There were also forager rounds issued in 45-70 that were supposedly to gather small game to suppliment rations?  Perhaps the 410 was a developement of this as the round is quite similar to the 45-70... Be sure and keep us apprised of what you find out.
