Yes, I've got it on my .204 Ruger which has the heavy barrel.

Yes, the stock will fit (as you can see). The price of the .22 Mag Sportster with regular Synthetic stock, not the Ultra Varmit, is $103.62 plus tax at Wal Mart....<><....

The camo laminated stocks are available from H&R or Brownell's, but Brownell's say theirs is checkered and those that I got from H&R aren't. H&R's part numbers are R01181 Butt stock, $55 and R01182 Forend, $26. Brownell's prices are a bit higher but if they are checkered, worth more. I'd check with H&R to see if they are indeed checkered if you definately want em that way. You can call em at (978)630-8220 or email em at

FWIW, just picked up my UV in .22 Mag this afternoon. Serial number prefix is HU. The cinnamon laminate stocks are checkered on it. Very nice lookin' rifle.

Like I said, for what it's worth.

Nixter, have you had a chance to shoot the UV in 22 mag yet?, I am kinda wondering what type of groups that it is shooting as I have been looking at one also, will match my UV in 223 caliber, nice to have a matched pair.

No chance to shoot it yet. Need higher rings. I have a Simmons ATV scope i'll probably use on it. At 4.5-14x, it might be overkill, but it's all I have right now.

My friend has an UV in 22 mag and his will shoot 5 shots touching at 50 yards with Winchester Supreme ammo. I hope to see similar results. Shooter error is of course a factor :)

I was planning on sending my Sporty in for a Mag and Hummer barrels but plans changed. Maybe this one will get the Hummer barrel. Or I'll just get a new Sporty in the Hummer. The UV was $134 at Wally World. I say go for it.

I just may have to do that, then of course I'll have to call and get another cinnamon laminate forearm and butt stock to replace my synthetic ones on my hummer, that would give me 3 look alikes in the gun cabinet, would really have to look at which one I grab before I head out the door. Danny

With only $30-$40 difference in the price of a complete rimfire and an accessory barrel, I don't see H&R selling many rimfire accessory barrels since they added the barrel fitting charge.

Quick, that's part of the reason for the UV. That and I like the looks of the laminate stocks. If they made a UV in 17 Hummer, I would bite.

Off to the gun store for rings. Burris Sig series zee rings. Thats what I think I have on the .223 at least. High, matte. Yup, I think those are the ones.

The laminate stocks are available from NEF in either checkered or smooth.  I have a checkered cinnamon set for my 17HMR and a checkered camo set for my son's 22LR.

I phoned my Guru to see if he had a UV .22 WMR in stock.  While I had him on the phone I asked, just out of curiosity, if he had a .17HMR in stock as well.  He had both.  So...................

I told my wife it was on my Doctors advice because he told me I could afford to miss a few meals.  I'm sure this is what he meant.
My prayers are always answered,  sometimes the answer is no...........

Coastwatcher, always listen to your doctor. Unless he says he has a cure for Handi-itis, then find a new doctor cause this one's a quack. :-D

Dropped by the local Gander Mountain today, they had a Sporty in 17 HMR with my name on it. I resisted. But tomorrow is payday....

We'll see. I need to get my Buff Classic out of layaway first.

Congrats on the new rifles. :D
