A quick question for all you .45-70 ,1895CB shooters. Does the Lee 405 plain base mold work well in this rifle? Would like a little input before I order one. Thanks in advance.

Good bullet, shoots well in my experience. The mold itself leaves something to be desired but for 15 bucks, you can't expect too much. Id spend a little extra and get the rcbs 405 FNGC.

Thanks for the reply. I have one on the way, should be here today or tomorrow. I figured what the hey, for fifteen bucks.
I have there plain base mold for the .38-55 and it is doing a fine job for me.
