Hello folks, long time GBO user, first time on the Traditional archery forum page. Ive been getting pretty heavy into archery lately. Ive got an old Pearson compund iIve been practicing with and next month my new Reflex Grizzly compund should be in. But Ive been thinking of picking me up a stick bow to have some fun and shoot some targets with. I had planned on putting this off for a while, but I found this site on another forum that deals strictly in stick bow shooting. There they hae bows from a company called AIM. Specifically Im looking at 2 bows: The Victory recurve (62" string with 34 # pull,) and the Ranger recurve (52" string with choice of 22# or 26# and 58" string at 26#.) What do you guys think of these bows as starting bows (the Victory is $95 and the Ranger $85)? Im not looking to hunt with them. Thats what I got the Grizzly for. And if I did decide some day along the line to use a recurve deerhunting I would purchse a better suited bow. Like I said, this is strictly for fun right now. So would these bows fit the bill? Ill tell ya guys something that you might get a laugh out of. My father used to have an old Bear recurve he shot as a youngster. Tha bow sat in our basement for years collecting dust. It was a nice bow that was in pristine condition, it just didnt have the string anymore. Well here I am, all set and ready to start my foray into the world of archery. I figgure that bow would at least be a start, right? So I go lookin for it but cant find it nowheres. So I ask my mom where she last put it. She tells me the bad news that she cant remember if she sold it or gave it away after her last cleaning spree :cry: . Oh well, not much I could do about it.
