I'm looking to get a .44 Mag Handi but not having much luck.

Anyone know what the availability of these are?  Are they out of production or just out of stock?

Or am I just out of luck.

Thanks SSS,

I just checked on that barrel, and it's already up to $81.00 plus $10.00 Shipping.  If it goes much higher, it's just as cheap to send my gun in to H&R and have them install one.

I'll have to keep an eye out on the sale.

Keep in mind the cost of a 44 mag barrel from H&R will be $117 incl shipping both ways. Also, you might check with H&R to see if they have any 44 mag barrels, they don't have all calibers in stock all the time as some of us have found out more than once.

Checked with them this morning, they do have the .44 barrels in stock.

I had let slip the cost to ship to them, so I'll factor that in too.

The plus side is I know that if it's fit by them, it'll work.  I'm mostly certain a purchased barrel will work, but there's always that shadow of doubt.  That, and I've lost money in an ebay rip off before, so I'm always a little bit hesitant.

I will watch it

That's a lot better than my story.  Got confirmation they received it on 12/1/03-waited the 4-6 weeks and started calling--they kept telling me I was first in line when they came in--I finally talked to a supervisor who said the production was scheduled for MARCH--did I want to wait or get another barrel--I picked up the 44 on 5/1/04--End result = well worth the wait--love it--under an inch and a half after break-in with the O-ring trick.  You will love it!!!

You really can get a kick outta those guys buying barrels from ebay.  First they are a crap shoot at best and then most people think they're bidding on a TC barrel(as far as price goes) and getting a good deal at $120.

More power to 'em. :-D
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

And that's exactly the reason you never saw me bid on it. I checked on it Saturday afternoon and it was over $90.00, and that's where my cutoff was.

I guess I'll be boxing up my rifle and shipping it off to NEF after the holidays to have a new barrel fitted for $117.00 (including shipping both ways)

All most all the things I bought were junk. about only thing I got
was a fore arm for a H&R. So I quit even looking on e-bay.
Very disappointed in all I got. Marv.
