Have any of you guys tried these bullets in your 45-70?  How well did they work?

I have never used them simply because they cost more than the 405-gr bullets that I buy in bulk from my local dealer for a 500 ct box for $38.00 and NO Shipping Charges.

But lately I have been exhausting the supply of 405-gr's that I have on hand, so I have bought any in quite some time.

For those that want to shoot any BP products wether real Black Powder or Pyrodex, Tripple 7 bullets by Montana Precision Swaging are available on a couple more pages there at Midway.  These are lubed with BP lube, but can be used for smokeless as well.  You just can not use smokeless lube for BP loads because it will foul like sticky candy in your barrel.

I have not tried them yet, but I was reading somewhere that they claim these bullets can be driven to near jacketed velocities without fouling the bore.  That could be a consideration.  The only reason I have not tried them is that I have been too busy making my own.
....make it count

Oregon Trails Laser Cast bullets are some very nice looking bullets.  I have a bunch of them I bought for my .357 Handi.  The only trouble is they keyhole!  I don't know exactly what the problem is, but I suspect they are too hard to engrave properly.

I have been shooting the Brass Plus bullets from Midway in my .45/70 and I get very good accuracy with them.  $25/500 plus shipping.  The shipping cost with Midway is greatly reduced it you buy more than one or two items.
