I bet the Rugar is the better one. I couldn't get any accuracy with my Marlin.

varmit_master,

The only thing wrong with the Ruger 10/22M, like ALL Ruger rifles, is the "lawyer trigger" that they have.  Once that is replaced, and it's not that hard, they are very accurate and dependable.  My son uses a Ruger 10/22M(he is left handed due to an incident when he was 7) as he can’t find a left handed bolt action .22 WMR that doesn’t cost a lease on his life.  Don’t listen to those that complain about Ruger as most don’t have any experience with them or are repeating a rumor they were told.  I agree with you about the magazines that stick down.  On top of sticking you in the back when you try to carry them on a sling they catch on every twig when going thru the brush.  Get a Ruger 10/22M and install a decent trigger and you’ll no regret it.  Lawdog

If you want a truck gun you'll never beat the ruger theey always work, Maybe not the best but always. the trigger isn't hard to work on and a extended mag release reley helps specially when wearing gloves. 8)
