Who uses Blackpowder?

Just curious, but I was wondering with the popularity of Pyrodex and now T7, how many people still use good old fashioned black powder?  I've only used pyrodex the last several years, even in my old T/C New Englander.  The convenience of the inlines, pellets and scopes has sure made "primitive weapons" a lot less primitive.  But with open sights, black powder and and Maxi Balls, I could get some awfully good groups from my old gun, although they were at closer distance.

My son and I still use black powder. I have used it for over twenty five years when our state (Massachusetts) started a muzzleloader season. We could only use smooth bores and round balls. Those were the days before the booming coyote population. We could shoot both buck and doe. I will never go to Pyrodex or T7. I tried Pyrodex pellets and found they shoot very low. I weigh each charge of FFG on my hand loading scale and have hunted in all kinds of weather without a misfire, but I have more praise for the guns that I have used than for  uncovering the mystery of using blackpowder. I am very old school, I would not even consider anything less than a .54 cal with big long bullets. I tried power belts this season at my son's urging and was frightened because on a very cold day his PB was slipping down his barrel. I went back to old school in a hurry with big Hydra-Cons.


   The only gun control is one shot one kill !

GOEX FFG gives me more BANG for the buck.......

I shoot FFFg Elephant in my Knight with great results.  I don't have anything against the subs, this just happened to be already on hand when I got the gun.
