shot the hornet today

Well having had the flu for a week and had not been able to try my new handi out. Feeling better now and it is only 19 degree out so it was time to try it out. With open sights at 25 yards 4shots were in an inch and I pulled one out to make 2 inches. First reloads for this gun did pretty good. Now next week I can pick up my scope rings and mount my scope and get it sighted in. Used Win296 in these loads but have ordered some Lil-Gun to try too.

ORB,

I just bought a Bushnell 4-12X 40mm with AO from Wallie World for $69.95.  I'm already using one on my .22 Hornet with Weaver High Rings from Wallie World and mounted on a Weaver #82 base from Bass Pro.  I had to mill a new groove in the #82 to get the scope back far enough for hammer clearance, but after the modification, it's working really good.

It's a pretty simple process to modify the base.  Just bolt the scope in the place you want it with the back bolt and mark where the front bolt groove needs to be made.  Use a milling machine, Dremel, cutoff tool or file to cut the new groove.  Bolt it down and enjoy!
