ROSSI SINGLE SHOTS
« on: December 21, 2004, 06:52:27 AM »
Has anyone (i am sure they have) mounted a scope on the Rossi 243 barrel only to find out it is very hard to pull the hammer back? I placed a hammer extension on it to alleviate the problem. This caused the spring on the hammer to become weak (was told by a reliable gunsmith) because of the weight of it. Is there some lighter weight ones out there?

Geez! How big is that hammer extension, that it could cause the hammer spring to weaken? There are lightweight hammer extensions, but I don't know if they will fit the Rossi? Williams used to make a variety of hammer extensions. You might check at Brownells and see if the techs there know if one fits your gun.
