The surplusrifle site is a great place to review the disassembly procedure on your mauser. You didn't say what mauser you have though, so I will continue on as though it was the M96 Swedish Mauser......
First off, I would recommend degreasing the entire rifle so complete disassembly will be necessary:
1) Lift and pull the bolt first and insure it is unloaded. By pulling back & holding open the bolt release on the left side of the receiver (that's a rectangular clip hinged at the back), the bolt will come all the way out of receiver.
2) Remove the Cleaning rod at the muzzle
3) Using a C-clamp and padding, release the spring and slip the front stock band off the muzzle.
4) Repeat #3 for the 2nd band that holds the top half of the forearm stock.
You can now remove the forearm stockpiece by gently lifting from the front and rotating it 90 degrees.
5) Remove the magazine plate by placing a sharp tool (like the nose of a cartridge bullet) in the button at the back of the magazine, next to trigger guard...now push the mag. plate back? or forward? to release it. If it won't release, you most likely will need to work at it a bit because of grease.
6) Remove the forward screw in front of the trigger assy, holding the receiver.
7) Now remove the rear screw behind trigger assy. The receiver should be loose at this point.
Remove stock from receiver and barrel.
DONE....except for bolt disassembly which the surplusrifle will guide you through.
(Now you will want to know about degreasing stock and metal parts......)??
