Have you  tried the Internationl Paper Company?  They have lots of land in NY and used to lease to hunters.

MACHINIST:  There has to be lots of state land in those counties.  Get ahold of your local DEC office, for whatever region you are in, and have them tell you where the Deer Management and Wildlife Management areas are in those counties.  That's free state land.  Once you are there, you can approach any of the landowners to see if they would allow you and your party to hunt their property.  Also, as Daveinthebush said, get ahold of that paper company.

I just looked at my 2004 Hunting and fishing Guide and it no longer shows the WMA (wildlife managment areas) but DEC can tell you where they are.  HTH.  Mikey.

lonewolf5347, thanks for the link, I've been looking for some land to lease myself!

crazyjjk, my friend leases land from Cotton Hanley (I think it is). He leases 150 acres about 12 miles west of Marathon, N.Y. I'll have to talk to him though because I can't find anything about them on-line.

lonewolf5347, thanks. I contacted Michael J. Gersten (518) 793-4481, ext.223 michael.gersten@ipaper.com at International Paper yesterday via e-mail. He is going to send me some information.

I'm going to contact Cotton Hanlon also. See which one has a better deal and maybe a better location for me. Thanks again! :D
