Winchester Goes to Hevi-Shot?
« on: December 22, 2004, 01:53:15 PM »
Saw the add in my latest (January/February 2005) issue of Turkey Call on page 12. I'm guessing this is Hevi-Shot® by some other name. Here's the link from the Winchester site:

Ever since Remington one exclusive rights to load Hevi-shot the other manufacturers have been doing the simple solution to copyright infringement.....change the stuff just enough so as not to be "technically" the same.  I believe Federal also loads some kind of Tungstenblablabla stuff too.  Just add one different element and youve got a "new" metal thats still basically the same.  Of course Im no metallurgist, so I cant say exactly whats different   .

Turkey loads, smurkey smoads. I'll stick with Remington Express #4's @ MAX dram and 1 and 1/4 ounce of shot. I've tried turkey loads. Extra recoil b/c of the buffering they put in the turkey loads. And I really don't need the extra recoil.  :D
