Ruger sight replacement
« on: December 26, 2004, 06:23:43 PM »
Has anyone sent a Ruger Single action revolver with a damaged front sight (appears to be welded on) to Ruger for repair (Non warranty)?  This particular gun is a Bisley.  If so, how well was it repaired and how much did it cost?  Your replies would be appreciated!

Ruger front sight

The Ruger front sight is silver soldered on. When I had my bbl. cut down on my Bisley, I went back with a DX front sight from Weigan Combat. (It has interchangeable blades.) The sight base costs $36.00 and blades run $15.00 for Patridge or ramp to $25.00 for fiber optic to $50.00 for Gold dot or Trijicon night sights. My gunsmith drilled and tapped my bbl. instead of silver soldering. If you would like to check into this contact Tim Thompson @ (662) 398-5001. He does an excellant job for a reasonable price.

Ruger Customer Service is the best!!!!!  I sent my Ruger Bisley via my local gun shop (didn't want to fool with all the regs they have now) and received my Bisley .44 with a new front sight...and it was re-blued entirely... AND they didn't charge me a dime!  I only paid for the initial shipping and that was it.  I couldn't believe it.  This is how American companies should treat their customers, and since I loved Ruger Firearms prior to this, I have to say I love them even more!  They have my loyalty for being a great American Company to deal with.  Now how's that for Customer Service?   :-D
