Jigging for crappie/perch ?
« on: December 27, 2004, 01:58:54 AM »
Anybody have any good tips/tricks for jigging for crappie or perch(bait,lures,methods...etc)?                                                                    I love to catch them, but I never do in abundance....

Thanks
Good Luck, Be Safe, and God Bless  :D

if you don't have one you need to invest in a vexilar flasher.you would not beleive the diference these electronics make in your catch.fish like crappie in particular will suspend in water that is 30 feet or so deep during the day, they could be 10 feet under the ice or 10 feet off the bottom,at times they will move to chase a bait but i've seen times when you need to target one fish and make them mad enough to eat.without the electronics this is just a guessing game.the vexilar is so sensitive that it will pick up a 1/16 oz jig in water over 60' deep, you can actually see the jig move on the screen.and watch a fish come to eat it.reading the screen takes a little to get used to,but once you get the knack of it you can't beat it.good luck, shawn
