I found a Deluxe Whisker Biscuit QS under the Christmas Tree in my pile of presents and know very little about them.  What are their good and bad points?  Lawdog

Lawdog,
Merry Christmas!

The whisker biscuit shoots very quietly, very accurately, and lasts for tens of thousands of shots when using the correct spine arrrows and shooting a properly tuned bow.

The whisker biscuit will not tolerate poor shooting form, untuned bows, or underspined arrows. It will make noise if the arrow is not going square through the center of the rest and underspined arrows and/or untuned bows will cause fits with this rest.

Its best to start with an even tillered bow and set the nock point so the arrow is at 90degrees to the bowstring.

The biscuit should be parallel to the bowstring not tipped forward or tipped backward.

Shoot the correct spine arrows for the bow.

The windage for the rest can be established by doing a walkback tune, the correct spine arrows will still hit the same vertical line at all distances, while incorrectly spined arrows will not.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Good luck hunting! >>>------------>

The biscuit is a good hunting rest, but that is all I would use it for.  I shoot in many 3d shoots and competitions, and the biscuit just isn't accurate enough for that purpose.  The reason being is becuase when the arrow is in the rest, there is usually a little bit of play inside the rest, making the arrow sit a little differently sometimes, and you will not shoot the same.

The most accurate rests are hands down the fall aways.  They offer concistant shot placement every time.

I am not saying that the bisquit is bad, it is a great hunting rest becuase you can turn your bow anyway and it stays in place- I wish I could say that for my Mathews fall away! They are especially nice for spot and stalk hunts!
Accuracy doesn't come from the arrow, it comes from the Indian!

IowaBuckHunter is right....the biscuit is an excellent hunting rest.  But I would disagree with him on the accuracy.  I have had zero problems with accuracy.  I shoot tight groups consistently with my biscuit....that includes 3D shooting.  But like anything else, you have to do what is good for you...and like everything else, you can get very good with the biscuit with practice.  Fall away rests are great, and if they work for you, by all means use them....but if hunting is your goal,  or if there are times when you're in a position where your arrow may fall off the rest, definitely use the biscuit.  I can't count the number of times I've found myself having to turn my bow on it's side or even turn it upside down.  Had I not been using the biscuit, I'd have to remove my arrow from the rest...not the best thing when stalking or moving through the woods.  Very easy to use in the field, and extremely accurate for me.  Definitely try it and see if you can make it work.  JMO.

Its a great rest Lawdog.Set up like stated ,and you will be pleased.Some say that you will louse some speed.1-2ft.ps.And the stories of fletchings getting riped off,or wavey,maby, with the old stile,but i have used mine for a year now, and its not a problum.Put a dab of glue in front of your fletch and back.As far as accuracy go they have been shoot through a hooter shooter,all the arrows went in the same hole.If any one can find a more accurate rest,go for it.pan
