Wild hogs, advise checklist?
« on: December 28, 2004, 04:11:06 PM »
I am going to chase down a rumor of 25-30 hogs in a public wildlife nearby. No I am not going to be specific on location.   :P
We have snow now, but I am thinking of waiting till it's a foot or so deep, so they get into a "rut" so to speak and stalk the trails. Hunt into the wind, etc. Any other suggestions?? Do ya think any kind of food scents might be helpful? I will probably day hunt for them spending all day out with a lunch etc.  Treestand is pretty much out of the question. :D

hey jeff, were it me i would concentrate on shelter, food, and water.  this time of year i would think water is one of the harder things to come by.  so if you know the area they are in, try to find where the water supply is.  good luck.

Sounds like good advise, thanks.  I really don't know what I am going to find when I get there.  Love the hunt though!! :D
