I finally called in some coyotes
« on: January 01, 2005, 04:36:35 PM »
Went out after dark tonight and called just a little bit with "tweety" and here came 2 coyotes bouncing toward me right away. I called in one more about 30 minutes later. The problem was I was by myself and found out very quickly how hard it is to hold light and shoot, I didn't fire a shot, I will try again soon with a partner or 2. Any tips you all can give me for shooting at night would be a big help. Thanks to all for sharing their knowledge.

Hunting at night is easier with a partner.  I got a tip from a guy on another board that said he uses a q-beam style spotlight with a 'V' shaped piece of foam taped to the top.  He uses the foam piece to cradle the forearm of his rifle.  I tried it and it works pretty well, as long as your shooting a fairly light weight rifle.
