« on: January 02, 2005, 03:37:27 AM »
I've  been shooting   a TC  Encore  since  they came out ,,,My  daughter has shot it some to in my  7mm/08  but   it  was a bit much   for her..... After reading all  the  comments on    this  fourm I decided  to get her  a handi in   243..Finding one th  day AFTER  christmas was not  easy  but  we  did  adn  topped it with  good   Simmons  Scope  and on Jan 1st on  teh  youth  hunt  she too a  nice   9  point   buck at  109 yards  (  range finder checked)...... I'm happy I found  this  fourm   and  all its  great tips.. Now I need to send  it back  to  get her a  few more  barrels

Thanks

Blacksmith245: Congratulations to your daughter!! :D

Could you give us more info on which Simmons scope and what ammunition was used?

I've got a Handi .243 on order, so I'm collecting info on what works with it.  Thanks.

Welcome to Heaven sometimes called the world of handi rifles and to the best site to discuss them. Will be watching for your input. I am between 243 Handi rifles right now but have the 223 , 280, 44 mag, two 45-70's and a 12 Guage. Still badly need a 30-30 handi rifle or to send one in for a barrel. Good Hunting to you and yours.
shot placement is everything.

First  off  thank you  and  the others on My  daughters behalf,,

the  scope  is a Simmons Outfitter 3.5 to 10 X40..I've got one like it only  the  6 to 20 X 50 on  My   Encore  223..Both are  nice  and  clear  adjust  easy  and hold   there  zero

For  this  trip I did not have time to load and  test  the rifle so I used Federal Premium 95 grain Nolser Ballistic  tip

It  shot  very  well  and of  course did the  job in  this  case
