Scope covers
« on: January 02, 2005, 09:00:35 AM »
I have a Knight LK-93 that I will be putting a scope on.  I have the mounts and am looking for a proper scope right now.  Question is do I need to use some kind of a scope cover to prevent damage to the scope from the percussion cap?  Looks to me like it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Critter,

Yes you will want something, otherwise you will have a burnt spot on there along with corrosive fouling. I have a leather one for my M-98 White, but it can be as simple as a piece of black electrical tape. The tape works very well in fact and is very inexpensive. Here is a pic of my leather one, it has two slots cut into it for the scope turrets.

I do not ahve anything on the scope I have on my lk-93. I do not plain to do anything with this scope so the mark on the underside doesnt mean anything to me. I just clean it when I clean my rifle.
