A small hog...
« on: January 03, 2005, 04:26:15 AM »
I was hunting hogs on January 1st and happened upon a gang of about 10 sows and pigs.  I was hunting with my Encore 209X50 blackpowder pistol and I selected the pig that was the closest; a small boar that weighed about 75 lbs. or so.  Here is a photo.....

I was about 3-4 miles from the truck so I hoisted the pig from the nearest tree and skinned and deboned the pig pretty much right where he fell.  I carried the meat out in my backpack and it should make some mighty tasty sausage.  I hope to go back this weekend and use my Lyman GPR with a .50 caliber roundball.

I got this fellow last weekend with my Encore .50 caliber rifle.  He's a little bigger!
