Does anyone shoot one of these in a Super Shadow model. any thoughts on them as deer rifles. I normally don't like the super-ultra-wiz-bangs but I kinda like what I am seeing so far.

If you are going after deer, I would go with the 243 WSSM or even the 25 WSSM. I am not an advocate of .22 caliber deer rifles, so that's why I am not recommending the 223 WSSM.

I am leaning towards the 243 WSSM if I were to get one. I probably wouldn't get the 25 WSSM because I have three 257 Roberts already. I am curious about the field performance of the 243. I was curious though if anyone has used the 223 WSSM on deer. I know a couple of guys that love the plain old 223 for deer and from what I have seen I won't argue with them.

I dont own one, but I would go with the .243, a little more punch for deer...And if you want you can load it down smaller for varmit, its mor versatile then the .223

257Robt,

I shoot a .223 WSSM and my daughter in-law uses a .25 WSSM, both are M70 Coyote's though(my .25 WSSM hasn't arrived yet).  The twist rate on the .223 WSSM really doesn't suit itself to stabilizing the heavier bullets that one should use for even small deer.  For deer size critters go with the .243 WSSM or even better the .25 WSSM.  'HogFan' and I are of the same mind when it comes to using a .22 centerfire on deer.  Lawdog
