win. 94 Parts

Just a quicky guys... Have a 1951 model 94 that had a very bad home previously. Where would you likely get an ejector spring, and a mag tube plug screw. and would it be better to trade a rifle length mag tube for a carbine length one or just go ahead and cut the rifle one off?? Thanks in advance. Marty

The screw and the ejector spring should be available from GunPartsCorp.  The magazine tube should be the same although there were several variations used to retain mag tubes and if the rifle tube has the correct holes for the cap screw it certainly could be shortened.  If the tube's an original the rifle variation would most likely cost a bit more as fewer were made.  In the case of the rifle tube being original I would likely leave it alone and get the correct part.

Thanks for the reply... I sort of thought that it would amount to a "Dirty Trick" to cut up an original mag tube, as I believe this one to be. Maybe I should put it on a trader forum huh?? I must not be skilled enough at this I-Net business to find small parts at Gun-Parts but I have simply called 'em in the past and nearly always got what I was after. I was just tryin to get in step and use their web-site to find these and guessed that they must not have 'em..... Thanks again for the reply.... Marty

Racepres:  I have always had the best of luck calling Winchester/Browning for the parts I've needed.  Their parts people are very nice and have always helped me out.

The mag tube cap plug screw shouldn't be a problem.  If there is a question as to the right one, they will probably send a couple just to be sure.

Regarding the mag tube itself - are you planning on cutting it down?  Is it a full length tube now?  Why would you want to shorten it - is it buggered up - if so, just ask Winchester for a new one - they have done that for me without a problem and they are pretty easy to install.  HTH.  Mikey.

Gosh no, it is not buggered at all just too long for the application, I need a 18-3/4" and I got a 25-1/4" Tube at a show. Again if we believe it to be a desireable tube I will get the one I need and off this one to some poor soul searching for a long one. (easy to shorten .. tough to stretch). If I don't do any good at the show coming this w/e I will call Win. on yer advice Thank You... BTW gunnut69 I did figger out what I was doing wrong at the Gun Parts Site... Found out how to find what I was lookin' for... Thanks to All ... Gotta go start a new thread.... Marty
