MDM Muzzleloader
« on: January 05, 2005, 07:42:54 AM »
Found this board a week ago and love it. I figured I'd register and ask you guy's a question. Has anyone heard of MDM muzzleloaders? They look very similar to H&K's. Cabelas has them for a good price.
Here's the link

Thanks for any input.

Tuaca,

I have a pair of older MDM's (Buckwacka's) that are of American manufacture.  I believe the receivers, if not the whole guns, are now made in Brazil.  Whether or not that makes a difference to you is a personal choice.  One of my MDM's is great and shoots consistent 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards.  The other had a trigger that left alot to be desired and I have only recently done a trigger job on it in order to start serious load development.  Fit and finish on my MDM's are quite acceptable and the tapered barrels give good balance and feel.  The MDM 209 breech plugs don't require any discs or primer holders compared to the H&R's.

I don't know if any this applies to their current guns, just thought I would share some of my experience.

Regards
