Since the signals are no longer scrambled, can I expect any better accuracy than 49m with my GPS 12?

I expect a lot of it has to do with location, location, and location. And the number of satellites you are recieving at a given time. I think the other day I started at 74 feet and got down to 24 feet at the same location. When I am 20 miles West of here I start benfitting from WAAS and get down around 9 feet. Amazing.

I have noticed a lot of different changes with the satellites of late, I expect that the civilian side will go downhill here in the West if we go to war. I would rather see the U.S. Military have full benefit if that happens then Siskiyou out balancing around fishing.

I have a Legend, but I do not think the ability to recieve is one of the difference between the gps 12 and the legend.

The 12 and the Legend both utilize "patch" antennas. They view 180 degrees from their face direction. It is best to have these faces parallel to the Earth pointing at the sky. If you want the best accuarcy buy a unit with a quad helix antenna and WAAS, like a 76 Map.
