Source for ready made PP bullets?
« on: January 05, 2005, 01:24:02 PM »
I would like to try some PP bullets out of my TC Contender in 45-70 but I really don't know how well they would work.

Are there any sources for ready made PP bullets? I would appreciate any information. Thank you.

400-Gr bullet

Take a look at this 400 gr but your going to either have to find someone that can teach you or just follow the directions that Brent Danielson give on his web site Making, Loading and Shooting Paper Patch Bullets  This is how I learned, and if you e-mail Brent from the web site he will be more than helpful with instructions.

I don't know any company that is producing a paper patch bullet ready made for you.

swaged lead pistol bullet,,,the 250 SWC Pistol bullet at .451". Shot a large 8 pt buck with this light bullet. Patches GREAT, and accurate. Full mushroom as they are soft swaged.

Contact me at macedavid@hotmail.com.  I manufacture these rascals and can make just about any weight you would want.  I have several satisfied folks that shoot a 450 grain bullet in their 45-70s.  Heavy loaded 500+ grain bullets in the Contender are a real treat. I have shot them.  I don't know what the twist rate in the Contender is but I would guess 1 in 20.  The 450 grain should do great.

Good shooting,
