230 GR bullets for .303 British
« on: January 06, 2005, 06:52:53 PM »
was perusing one of my favourite dealers webpages and found this

http://www.marstar.ca/ammo/frontier-metal.htm

never heard of this brand before. 230 gr. seems a little heavy for a .303. they also have 230 gr.  and 260 gr. bullets in .308, but since they are FMJ, they are useless as anything but a target bullet.

Well, they aren't much help on normal game but I'm betting that guys who hunt buffalo and scrub bull in the Northern Territory here in Oz and use .303(although that crowd is getting smaller) could quite happily use them. The other goer is to use them on dangerous game if you have what's been called a ".303 Winchester Magnum" i.e. a P14 or M17 rechambered to .300 Win Mag but using the .311 cal bullets. I daresay it'd also be an interesting bullet for a .303 Epps.
