I've found two other aftermarket triggers for the Ruger besides the Timney. One is from Jard - it comes with a trigger, sear and spring.The other is from Rifle Basix and it is only a trigger. The description of them says that both are drop in replacement parts with no fitting required. Was wondering if you had any experiance with either of these triggers, and if they are really drop in. I sent the Timney back. Thanks.

I have no experience with the 'Jard'. Aa good friend and fine gunsmith/machinist friwnd of mine likes the RifleBasics trigger better than the Timney. He says it's easier to install. I've not had any trouble with the Timney but it is easy to get into trouble with that design. If josh like the RifleBasics trigger though it should be just fine, but as I said I've no direct experience with it.

Thanks. I'm going to order the Rifle Basix and we'll see how 'drop in' it really is. Their website is kind of vague, but Midway has them.

I installed the Rifle Basix trigger today. It is a true drop in replacement. It took me less than ten minutes from start to finish. The pull is crisp, clean and light. I don't have a pull gauge, but at the lightest setting it is too light even for me, and I like light pulls on my hunting rifles. The pull weight is easy to adjust from the bottom of the trigger without removing the action from the stock. There was no filing or grinding of the safety ledge required, and the safety clicks into all three positions positively. I wish they made them in stainless so it would match the factory trigger, but since it works so well it doesn't bother me. My only question is - if Rifle Basix can mass produce an outstanding replacement trigger that doesn't have to be fitted, then why can't Timney?

I have no idea.. As I said before I've used the Timney before with good results but the Riflebasix seems to be the easier to install,. Perhaps I'll try one the next time..
