Ready to rock and roll
« on: January 07, 2005, 06:37:13 PM »
The "canoe paddle" Ruger .300WM I recieved for Christmas is ready to shoot.  Got a cheap synthetic padded sling on it, polished the trigger parts (it was relatively good before but is a really fine trigger now), got a box of the cheapest WW ammo I could find, and loaded up test loads for the 180g Barnes TSX using H1000 and H4831SC.  Last night UPS brought me a new Burris FullField II 3x9 from Natchez and I got it mounted.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get to the range for at least a week.  :(

At one time, I had the same rifle, but chambered in 280 Rem. That "canoe paddle" stock was the worst fitting stock that I ever shouldered. You might experience the same, or not. But if you do, and you have some cash to spend, get a MCMILLAN stock for that rifle. You won't regret it one bit. Nonetheless, those Rugers are nice rifles and you should really enjoy yours.
