Somehow my 45-70 was dropped and the scope knocked loose, I believe it happend as I was gutting that spike. Anyway, I was trying to sight in a new load for it and it wouldn't group, I mean it wouldn't stay on a 20" log turned on end, most were out of a 3' square area. After firing about 7 rounds I went to adjust the scope and it nearly fell off the rifle. Needless to say, the hammering it took while loose broke it. I had one in the house I removed from my 30-30 I could put on it, meanwhile I had to cast some more bullets up. They cast undersize, I've yet to figure that out, but when I fired them, they keyholed and leaded the #&%^*&%* out of my barrel. After a vigourus scrubbing, I discovered the second scope broken as well *&^*&%^%!#@@#! Removed the scope and rail, and proceeded to use the iron sights, which had never been adjusted. Had to load more bullets........only had Large Rifle Magnum Primers, rewarded with football size groups **%^%$%^#%$@#!@! Remembered I had some Large Pistol Magnum Primers. Loaded a few more....softball size groups. Dug through all my stuff and found 23 CCI Larger Rifle Primers. Loaded 10 more, fired 3, a 3" group. Good enough. Went and sat in my stand for 2.5 hours and froze my butt off, right in the middle of an all time heat wave record in January, didn't see diddly. Went back to house, took wife to dinner. Went by the beer store, beer store closed, tomorrows Sunday, no Sunday sales.
Some people say they can cause me trouble, causing my trouble is like poking butter up a wildcats ass with a hot knife, but they are welcome to try. And just think, there are three more weeks of deer season left. Anyone for a round of Golf???
