Sold my Knight, whats next?
« on: January 10, 2005, 06:11:33 AM »
Well having introduced myself to inline muzzleloading I figured out one thing, that LK-93 doesn't fit me worth a dang!  So I sold it to a friend because it shoots fine and he likes it.  Question is, whats next?  I'm looking for some recommendations.  I am aware of the CVA Optima, T/C Omega and Encore.  Beyond that I really have no experience with everything else.  I have some time to think it over so give me your thoughts and we'll go from there. 8)

If you are talking about fit you will have to try them all yourself. I have an Omega and it fits me. I do not like Remington rifles (they do not fit me) I like Winchester and Savage rifles they fit me. I have several Mauser rifles with synthetic stocks and one with a Fajen and they are all great. You will find the Encore and the other break action rifles have a definate different feel. Personally I do not like the Encore or the Optima. Hope you find one that feels good. I do not have any Knight rifles since I do not like the plastic holder thing.

Critter,

There are 3 in-line ML's on the market right now that are pretty well the "cream of the crop" IMO.  They are:

1)  T/C Omega .50
2)  Knight Disc Elite .50
3)  Savage 10ML-ll

With any one of these three ML's, you won't go wrong!  Another gun that can certainly be included would be the T/C Encore, although it is not a "pure" ML as it has the capability of switching barrels.  Go to a gun shop and try them all on for size and buy the best that you can afford.  Then ENJOY!

I can recommend the Omega, I love mine. I've had two bad experiances with CVA, and the Encore just doesn't feel right to me. Try to handle them all and see which one fits.

I actually am going to look at the NEF Huntsman.  I already have a receiver it could be fitted to.  I am also looking at the Omega pretty hard as well.
