Get ready for a battle folks.
« on: January 10, 2005, 12:09:06 PM »
Was reading today in the local Fishing/hunting paper.  The Humane Society of US, and the Fund For Animals have officaly joined ranks to create one large entity.  They have now made it their stated goal to ban all bowhunting.  Luckily its early enough that we hunters and our organized power can prepare to confront the issue.  We MUST take this threat seriously.  From what Ive read they have been preparing this for a while and are ready to throw the whole weight of their organization.
So lets not forget to vote.  Inform and enlighten the non-hunter/sportsperson.  Write state and local politicians.  Lets show these quacks that tradition will not die to modern, suburban servitude.

If you can find any organizations that are taking donations to fight this battle let us know, I'd be more than willing to donate. I'm brand new to bowhunting and I really don't want to spend the rest of my life shooting at a BLOCK.

To my knowledge not all local Humane Soc. are a part of this.  We checked it out in our area several years ago, but it is probably time to check again.

10 top bowhunting organizations were supposed to meet at the Archery Trade show.  Ill get the names and post them.  I know for a fact one of them was the IBO.  Also the US Sportsmans alliance is going to be an important figure in all of this.
Ill get the names for everyone, either today of Tom.

Okiee...The 10 organizations that met at the recent Archery Trade show to begin discussions on a "defense" plan are as follows:
Archery Trade association
Bowhunting Magazine
Bowhunting.net
Bowhunting World Magazine
Bowsite
International Bowhunting Org.
National Bowhunter Education Foundation
National Field Archery Association
Pope and Young club
U.S. Sportsmans Alliance

The group taking the lead on all this is supposed to be the U.S. Sportsmans alliance.  You can access the website here:
